Ananias Pettit

December 27, 1954 — October 6, 2020

On October 6, 2020 Ananias William Pettit a-k-a Pistol Pete, Pete and/or Peter, loving Father to Brahein Kareen Bruce, passed away at age 65. The 4th child of Fred Donald and Rosealee Pettit, who preceded him in death, along with 2 siblings, Rose Marie and Odella (Odette) Pettit who also preceded him in death. This left a great void and sadness in his life. Prior, he was a quiet child growing up, of all his siblings, and was more the observer, after his dad. He graduated from Thomas Edison High School and following became a Marine for the USMC Branch of the Military to serve his Country.

He Loved sports, especially basketball, which he was great at, and playing the piano, singing with his very strong tenor vocals that made everyone smile. He’d drink a beer, singing any one of the Commodores Songs, pause for a sip, and continue with the song where he left off. Always, amazing his audience. He’s known for his enormous heart, filled with love, care and concern for everyone, chiefly his siblings. Pete would give you his last. He valued nothing over LOVE, nothing! He’d help anyone, no matter their position in life. He had just as many homeless friends as he had prominent friends. He loved his place of birth, Philadelphia, Pa and his favorite teams were Eagles, 76ers, Phillies. You couldn’t make him leave Philly if you wanted to!

He leaves to Cherish his memories his son, Brahein Bruce, 9 siblings, Abraham, Nina, Donna, Donald Ray, Arjuna, Odessa, Celestine, Zackary and Melody Pettit, a host of Nephews, Nieces and friends.

Lovingly,
