Andre Anthony Robinson, known popularly as “Big Ant”, was born on May 27,1965 to Patsy Stanley and the late Cornell “Pete” Pixley. He was known for being an amazing brother, father, son, and uncle. Anthony had a great sense of humor, a big heart, and never turned down a meal.
He departed from this life, entering into the Gates of Heaven, on Thursday, January 30, 2020. Anthony fell in love with basketball at a young age and became a local hoop star. His love for the game led him to play in numerous leagues throughout North Philadelphia. He was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System, graduating from Edison High School in 1983.
He continued his education and basketball career at Cheyney University. Following Cheyney, he began employment as a contractor at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center. On May 2, 1994, Anthony began employment as a trackman for Amtrak; where he work until he transitioned. Due to illness, he was forced to retire in December 2018.
Anthony had tremendous faith to endure his many challenges. He dedicated his life to the Lord in June, 1998. He was an active member at Mount Calvary Reformed United Ministries. He was ordained a deacon there on February 21, 2010 and also taught Sunday school.
"Big Ant" had a cheerful personality that was loved by many. He was preceded in death by his father. He leaves to cherish his memory; his mother, three children: Andrea Robinson, Aiesha Robinson, and Andre Robinson Jr., two step-children Dwayne Davis, and Tysheea Lumb; twin sister, Andrea Robinson; one younger brother, Tracey Green; one aunt, Minnie Furman; ex-wife, Stacey Thompson-Robinson; six nieces and nephews Tranae Green, Kia Green, Kyree Robinson, Cydnei Robinson, Candice Green, and Tre' Green; two great-nephews Syire Robinson and Amir; and host of friends and loved ones.
