Annease Foster

October 3, 1933 — March 5, 2021

Annease Foster was born on October 3,1933 in Anderson, South Carolina to Nelson McKinley Hammond and Anna Wakefield-Hammond. Annease received her high school diploma from Dobbins Vocational High School and went to work for the Naval Defense Depot as a supervisor in which she successfully retired from after 20 years of service. Annease married Curtis Eugene Foster, they were married for about 10 years before he preceded her in an early death. Annease had two children, Delisha and Gregory Foster.

Annease was a very spiritual person, she was an active member of Greater Exodus Church for over 50 years, which was formally known as New Thankful Baptist Church when Annease first started to attend.

Annease enjoyed cooking for her loved ones, for many years she orchestrated big dinners for the holidays, where everyone would meet up at her home and enjoy her meals made with love. She also loved to crochet while watching her favorite shows such as Judge Judy, Judge Mathis and Fatal Attraction. Annease enjoyed going on her monthly trips to the casino with her brother McKinley, she also enjoyed attending the Senior Center weekly where she socialized with her peers. Annease also enjoyed spending all her time with her special dog Fendi who was her best friend, she affectionately called him “FEN FEN”.

One of Annease’s most noticeable characteristics was being a “Motherly Figure” to anyone she encountered, her home was her sanctuary and also a sanctuary for anyone she welcomed in. She always had a home cooked meal or a particular home remedy if someone was sick. She doted over her grandchildren and her nieces and nephews. She was the Matriarch of her family and she wore that title proudly.

Annease leaves to cherish and honor her memory always: Her children, Delisha and Gregory; Grandchildren Diamond, Harvey, Destiny, Dash, Johnna; Great Grand Children Shiloh and Shila and future Great Grandson; Brother McKinley; Nieces and Nephews Nelson and Tony; (Darlene, Brenda, Anita, and Craig who Preceded her in death) Great Nephews Lil Nelson, Andre, Isiah, Joshua; along with a host of family and friends.
