A man of many stories, some factual, and others not so factual, Anthony Tyrone Gordon Sr.’s imagination and creativity swayed through his love of a good cigarette, moments of laughter, a good song, and a fine suit. For those things, he will be remembered. His entrance into God’s throne room came on Thursday, January 28, 2021.
He is survived by his daughters, Angela and Latanya, sons Anthony Jr. and Michael, six grandchildren, a son-in-law, brothers and sisters, many nephews and nieces, and friends.
Born in Philadelphia, on November 15, 1954 to Louis Gordon and Catherine Deas-Oliver, he graduated from Simon Gratz High School and entered the military via the Marines. While serving in the reserves, he worked diligently for the City of Philadelphia in the communications sector.
Anthony had the natural talent and personality to make friends no matter the situation, and his giggles were infectious to those around him. A man of fine taste, he taught his children the finer things like appreciating good clothes and shoes, never looking like a mess because you represented him, and loving a great tune from the sixties and seventies.
He lived as a man whose impact will forever be felt by the family and friends who loved him. His passing left a whole that only he could fill. He provided lessons for all of those that knew him to carry on in the present and future.
Someday, we shall meet again, Daddy. We love you.
