Barry Jarvis Farley son of the late Lorenia Pearl McKelvey Farley Bellamy was born on July 12, 1960 in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. He moved to Philadelphia in 1968 where he was educated in the Philadelphia school system. During his youth he faced many challenges but overcame those obstacles. If you knew Barry, you know he loved to read, he loved sports, walking, landscaping, politicking and riding his expensive pedal bikes. He was best known to his family as a professional photographer. He loved taking pictures of his family and friends. He enjoyed striking up conversations with any and everyone who would listen. He never met a stranger. He touched hearts everywhere, he was our big teddy bear. Barry volunteered at the Holy Cross Lutheran church assisting the church community with various jobs. Barry worked at Dietz and Watson for over 15 years and was regarded as a hard and dependable worker. On October 26th 2019 after a brief illness God brought him home. His memory will forever be cherished by his sisters Barbara Williams and Harriet Fladger of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, Wilhelmina Bird and Laticia Farley of Philadelphia, Pa and two brothers Lesley Farley of Philadelphia Pa. and Albert Levi McKelvey who preceded him in death. He’s also survived by step father Jesse Bellamy of Philadelphia, Pa. and two brother and sister in-laws, fifteen nieces, seven nephews, nineteen great nieces, twenty-one great nephews and a host of family and friends who he treated as his own.
