Brenda Gale Smith, 65, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on November 17, 2019 in Philadelphia, PA. Brenda Smith was born in Union, South Carolina to James Smith and Effie Jeter on September 13, 1954. She was affectionately known as Beeg. As a child, Brenda enjoyed dancing and drawing. She often drew pictures for her grandchildren. She expressed her love for life by entertaining and cooking wonderful meals for her family and friends, most especially over the holidays. She attended Germantown High School and went on to obtain her G.E.D. For several years, she worked various customer service positions. After having her children, Eric, Keisha and Isaac, she decided to be a homemaker. Brenda was baptized along with her children at Grace Community Baptist church and later became a member of the Enon Tabernacle Baptist church. She had a long time relationship with the love of her life, Clarence Thomas. They enjoyed traveling and each other’s company. Over the course of twenty-five years, her happiest moments were spent loving and caring for her grandchildren. Her last journal entry was a letter expressing her unconditional love to them all. Brenda is preceded in death by her brother, Howard Smith and father, James Smith. Brenda is survived by her mother Effie Smith, son Eric Smith, and his wife Shawnette, daughters Keisha Smith and Kelicia McCollum, son Isaac Smith and his wife Natasha; her brother Rufus, twin sister Linda, and sisters Terrance, and Denise. She is also survived by her grandsons, Nathaniel, Nasir, Elijah and Nieem and granddaughters, Nydia, Ryan, Kalana and Harper and one great granddaughter Zurri.
