Remembering Charles N. Johnson Jr. (Reebop)

Charles N. Johnson Jr. (Reebop), was born on October 26, 1946 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Ola & Charles Johnson Sr.. On Friday September 20, 2019, Charles went home to be with the Lord. Charles was employed with the City of Philadelphia for 40 years.  Charles was known to all his friends as "Charlie" or "Bop". To he family, he known as "Dad", "Uncle Reebop" and to his grandchildren he was "Pop-Pop". Always a dapper dresser,  he was going to make sure he was the best dressed for any occasion. We also knew him as "Mr. Smooth".

Reebop lived his life the way he wanted and how he wanted, never once second guessing himself. He enjoyed lounging around in his favorite pajamas and bathrobe listening to the TV & the best music of his life. There was never a dull moment when Reebop was around.  He was always  telling us one of his amazing stories or just plainly speaking his mind, either way, he was always amusing. His proudest moment was with his family, nothing gave him more joy than having all his grand kids around him during the Christmas holiday, with Snoopy & Blackie. There was nobody with a heart as big as his during the holiday seasons.

Charles was proceeded in death by his mother Ola.

Reebop legacy and love of pajamas will be carried on by his loving wife Inez and his 4 loving children: Dallas Cox,  Charles Johnson lll,  Dwayne Johnson,  and Theresa Johnson, Brother Raymond Johnson & Sister Elizabeth Judge, Son-in-law Lester Johnson & two daughter-in-laws: Tonya and Avia Johnson,  (12) grandchildren Thomas, Leia, Char'Nique, Lester lll, Isabel, Deborah, Brandon, Tahir, Hezekiah, Tyler, Shaina, Lily, brothers-in-law: Allen, Nathaniel & Robert Meyers, Sister-in-law Arlene Meyers (1) Aunt Myrt Hilll & (1) Uncle Henry Hill.  Michael Rucker & Lisa Debauche are very close family friends. His spirit will be missed by host of many loving relatives and special friends.
