DeBrina Majette

Sorrows come and go just as surely as do the joys of life; yet there is something disquieting, so deeply sorrowful, about the death of a loved one, that we never seem amply prepared for the inevitable occasion. So, it is with the passing of our beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, sister-in-law and friend.

Miss Debrina Antionette Majette, was born to - Bruce and Barbara Majette, on December 3, 1963 in Ahoskie, North Carolina. She passed peacefully to eternal rest on Saturday, May 30, 2020. She was also well known to everyone as Nettie or Miss Nettie. She was educated in the Philadelphia Public School system and graduated from Northeast High School. Debrina continued her secondary education at Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky. At an early age, she professed her love for Christ and was a member of Agape Soul Saving Station Church.

Nettie dedicated her life to serving and caring for others, from the babies to the elders. To know her, was to love her. which led to many lasting relationships. She also had a love for cooking which afforded her the opportunity to cook for those in need and cater events for Eastern Stars and a host of other organizations. She was passionate about helping people, accepting them for who they were and meeting them just where they were in life. She was an active member of her community volunteering for state representatives, such as, Donna Reed, John Meyer and former Mayor John Street. Nettie was faithful for working the polls during the elections.

Nettie’s beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of her children Dominque Anisa Majette-Kidd and De’Anna Antionia Majette-Jones; her parents, Bruce and Barbara Majette; special friend, Walter Seldon; grandmother, Ruth Lee; four grandchildren, Dominik, Davy’Anna, Demi and Adonis; three sisters Brenda Hawkins (Calvin) Valarie Steadman and Judy Redmond (Thomas); nieces and nephews, Ebony (aka Ebenezer), Tyreek (aka Chocolate Drop Khary (aka Kha Man), Shamoni (aka Shake n Bake) and Ashante ( aka Shanta Rosalee); great nephew Kaine great niece Shiloh and a host of other family members and friends.

We loved her dearly; but God loved her best and now she is at rest.
