Cleveland William Morris Sr. was born on March 3, 1946 to the late Geraldine Morris and the late Walter Hilliard. He entered his eternal rest on Wednesday December 9th, 2020.
Cleveland was educated in the Philadelphia Public School system until the early age of nine. He then went to live with his father and stepmother in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He graduated from Armstrong Highschool. He joined the Army and served for four years and returned to Fayetteville and worked at several jobs. He relocated back to Philadelphia and God opened a position, where he worked for the Philadelphia Zoo as a Supervisor dietician for 36 years, until his retirement. During that time he met his wife Shirley on December 19th , 1980 and they became husband and wife on December 19th ,1986 and as the saying goes, “the rest is history”.
He became a member of Beloved St. John Evangelistic Church in 1998 under the leadership of Pastor Clement Lupton III. He was involved in several ministries and was a devoted and faithful member. He was ordained as a Deacon and later as an Elder. He was faithful and devoted until his transition. He was truly a Servant of the Lord.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife Shirley, three sons Cleveland Jr, Jermaine (Nyma) and Brian and three Daughters Carla, Melissa and Kimberly. His sister Christina Whitt (George). A special Aunt Mattie Hilliard. Eleven grandchildren and eight great- grand. Four Brother in laws, Five sister in laws. Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
