Elizabeth (Bess) was born February 6, 1924 in Okolona Mississippi. She was the third child of the late Billie and Della McIntosh. Her siblings preceded her in death sister LaVate King, brothers Robert, Henry Lee and Lee Otis McIntosh.
Bess was educated in the Mississippi public school system. She was baptized at Palestine Baptist Church in Mississippi.
Bess and her late husband L.C Hill moved to Philadelphia. Where she joined the Cornerstone Baptist Church in 1953 under the leadership of the late Rev. Harold O. Davis. Bess was a faithful member of the Faith Choir, Mass choir & hospitality club where she was treasure and always attended Sunday school.
Bess worked for the Mott family for over 25 years. Moving on to the PNC Bank where she did janitor work until she retired.
Bess loved to travel back and forth to Ohio and Mississippi to see her family. She always had stories to share of growing up on the farm and who picked the most cotton. Bess would sing she’ll be coming around the mountain when she comes, or asking how’s the gas driving everyone crazy on those long car rides. Bess could be a mess, but she would always say keep God first in your life.
Elizabeth leaves to cherish her life Sister Ella Mae Smith and Sister in-law Joyce McIntosh and a host of niece’s and nephew’s and friends. You will be missed, and faithful to the end
