PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania 19132
Eric Lovell Knight was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 19, 1959 to the late Benjamin and Sarah Ann Knight. Eric was known by many as Rick. Rick was called to rest on August 16, 2019.
Rick was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System and graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in 1978. Rick was employed by the Philadelphia Gas Works and he also worked in the Waste Management field in Willingboro, New Jersey.
Rick was baptized at Brean Baptist Church in 2010.
Rick met Robin in 1975 and out of that Union he had three children, Lovell, Richie and Andrea. Soon after he met Vanessa and from that Union he had one child Veritta.
In 1979 Rick met Sheila and raised her three children as his own, Lindell, the late Keva and Monique. In 1997 they were married and united their family as one. Rick and Shelia were divorced in 2009.
Rick met Mesha his to-date Fiance’ in 1994 with whom he remained until the day the Lord called him to rest on Friday, August 16, 2019. Through their Union he had seven children Khahi, Eric, Mark, Arica, Theresa Khiyana and Kamaya.
Rick and Mesha were planning to be married on April 19, 2020.
Eric also known as “Rick” had an outgoing and stunning personality. He was always being “Ricky”, he was funny, witty and always had his siblings and anybody else doing his work. He was an excellent provider and protector of his family. Rick had an obsession for picking up pennies whenever and wherever he was at and he could go from 0 to 100 real quick!!! (REAL QUICK)
Rick was also compassionate and would give up his last dollar to help someone. Rick could sell anything to anybody.
Rick had some trials and tribulations in his life, but he always overcame them. He never gave up on himself. He was very frank and would say whatever was on his mind.
We will miss you Rick so very much and our hearts are truly broken!
Rick was preceded in death by his Mother and Father Sarah Ann Williams and Benjamin Talley.
Rick leaves to celebrate his memory: his loving Fiance’ Leslie Lane (Mesha) and ten children: Veritta, Lovell, Richie, Andrea, Eric, Arica, Mark, Theresa, Khiyana and Kamaya; five stepchildren: Lindell, the late Keva, Monique, Khahi and Keyana; two sisters: Jannie and Marcy; two brothers: Derrick and Mark, fourteen grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, my special nephew Steffon (“Little by little, I’ll meet you in the middle”) and my very special Sister-in-law Bernice.
Sorrowfully submitted,
The Family
