Glenda Constance Neal was born on September 20, 1948. She was the first daughter born to Mary Lou and Woodrow Jackson in Georgetown South Carolina. She moved to Philadelphia with family at an early age where she attended Philadelphia public schools.
She married her first husband James Edward Johnson Sr. and from that union they had three children. James Edward Johnson Jr., Mary Jeanida Johnson (Cream Puff) who proceeded her in death, and Anthony Wesley Johnson.
She began her career working at the Naval Aviation Supply Depot at the age of 17 until her retirement of 49 years in December of 2018. Glenda was known as the ultimate party planner and known for organizing grand social events on the Naval base and at the Rifle Club.
She was well known as ‘Lady G’ amongst her friends and considered the personification of a Diva. Glenda’s work family was always her largest support system during difficult times. At work is where she met the love of her life Royce Neal who she married on May 5, 1989 and had been married for 31 years.
Their fashion sense was above anyone else. When they stepped into the room they would have matching or well- coordinated outfits. They never allowed grass to grow under their feet. They loved to travel and go to great restaurants and diners.
Glenda loved socializing with friends but what she loved the most was to socialize with family. She would make sure she attended every family dinner and social event everyone would give. She was Ms. Clause during Christmas bearing presents and gifts for the eldest family member and to the newest born.
