James Weldon McLaurin was born in Dillon County, South Carolina on July 28, 1960 to the late Mitchell McKinley and Beaulah Mae McLaurin. He departed this earthly life on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 to be with the Lord.
James (Weldon) was baptized at an early age at Hazy Grove Baptist Church. He received his education in the Dillon County School System, Dillon, South Carolina.
James (Weldon) left South Carolina in 1979 after graduating high school and moved to Philadelphia with his mom (Beaulah).
James (Weldon) met Tange Mathis Charon in 1976, then in 1981 a precious child was born, his daughter Latasha Nicole McLaurin.
James (Weldon) enjoyed watching football, his team was the Dallas Cowboys, going fishing, and playing the lottery. Most of all he loved working.
James (Weldon) was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell McKinley and Beaulah Mae McLaurin; grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Walter McLaurin.
James (Weldon) leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter Latasha McLaurin (Dekari) of the home; one granddaughter Neiyana Swinton, one grandson Kari Maurice-James Berry; and one great-grandson Sire Epps; three brothers: Randy McLaurin (Darlene), Tony McLaurin (Jodonna), and Jack Kenny McLaurin of Dillon SC; two aunts: Isabella Samuel and Elizabeth Robinson (Johnathan) of Dillon SC; four nieces: Aletheia Fields, Saniyyah McLaurin, Zeraida McLaurin, Latoni McLaurin; two nephews: Arron White and Joseph McLaurin; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
