Karen Campbell, 68, of Philadelphia, passed away on March 21, 2020 in Philadelphia. Karen was born in Philadelphia to Mary and Raymond White on March 1, 1952. She was affectionately known as “sister” and enjoyed books and movies. She attended the Philadelphia public school system and graduated from Kensington High School. In her lifetime she worked as a telephone operator, a medical secretary, and a seamstress for the military.
She accepted Christ as her personal savior on June 3, 1979 and faithfully walked with God ever since. She joined New Calvary Baptist church where she was joined in holy matrimony to Rhett V. Campbell Sr.
Karen and Rhett were married in April of 1984 in Philadelphia. Together Karen and Rhett raised 3 children; Lyvette, Rhett, and Mia who they took pride in making sure were committed to serving Christ alongside their parents.
During her Christian walk, she was a member of several churches where she served as a counselor, intercessor, and friend to many parishioners.
Later in life, Karen chose to serve her children in the home as a stay-at-home mother and later a grandmother. Her home became a safe haven and in some cases child care for several children in her family and in her neighborhood.
Karen is preceded in death by: her husband Rhett, father Raymond, mother Mary, brothers Calvin and Raymond Jr., and grandson Christian.
Karen is survived by daughter Lyvette and her husband Charles; Daughter Mia and her husband James; son Rhett and his wife Aileesha; her sisters Dorethea, Jacqueline and Margaret; brothers Melvin and Kenneth; and grandchildren: Shanice, Amber, Asa, Zion, Rhett III, Vincent, Seraiah, Noah, Ashon, Elijah, Lucas, Aniyah, Cherri, and Jonah.
