Life Reflection of Lloyd Samuels

Lloyd Samuels was born on December 7, 1955 in Annatto Bay, St. Mary, Jamaica
to the late Mantel Samuels and Hazel Samuels-Baker. He was the oldest of seven
children. His siblings Althea and Clifford preceded him in death.
Lloyd was educated at Kingston College High School before migrating to the
United States in 1972, where he then graduated from Olney High School. He
continued his education at Aviation School, where he completed and received his
board certification. Lloyd was industrious and a hard worker. Shortly after
graduating, Lloyd worked for more than a decade at the Philadelphia Stock
Exchange as a Clerk. He credited his best friend Wayne Johnson for the job
reference. He worked for more than 15 years at T.J. Maxx until he retired in 2017.
Lloyd met his future wife Lorraine Samuels in 1979. They joined in marriage on
November 1, 1981. To this union 3 children were born: Nathan, Monique, and
Phylicia. He married a second time on August 22, 2011 to Adassa Minzie.
Lloyd accepted Christ at an early age and joined High Street Church of God. He
was active with many ministries at his churches. He was a pastor's assistant, sang
on the choir, and an usher to name a few. He remained faithful to God at New
Covenant Church of Philadelphia, then True Light Fellowship Church under senior
pastor and founder Dr. Wesley Pinnock until his passing.
Lloyd loved returning to his roots in Jamaica. He traveled home every year to visit
family and friends. He was one of the most giving and reliable people you would
ever meet. He was highly regarded as a natural born leader. Lloyd was a doting
and devoted father. He had a special bond with his oldest daughter Monique who
lived with him for many years. He cherished spending times with his friends and
family. He would often put others before himself.

Lloyd was well known for his exceptional cooking and passion for feeding his
loved ones on many occasions. Lloyd was an avid sports fan. He wore his revered
Dallas Cowboys paraphernalia proudly everywhere he went! Lloyd loved to
travel. He also loved engaging in games of cricket, dominoes, billiards, and loudi
with family and friends.
We will miss him so much. His wit and rare talents were gifts from God.
Lloyd leaves to cherish his mother, Hazel (Horace); siblings, Sylvester, Byron,
Marcia (Marice), and Erica; children, Nathan (Crystal), Monique, and Phylicia;
stepchildren Anthony and Ronaldo; grandchildren, Makye, Nicholas, Nathan Jr.,
and Christian; loving aunts, Veronica, Monica, and Myrtle; special friends
Lorraine and Adassa; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and
loving friends.
Lovingly Submitted,
The Family.
