Margaret Whaley

Margaret Ann Whaley, age 66, of Elloree, SC was called home to glory on Thursday, March 14 in Philadelphia. Margaret Ann, known to all as Lulli-Gal, was born in Elloree, SC to the late Robert Lee and Anna Whaley on September 25, 1952.

Margaret was a graduate of Elloree high school and was a member of the varsity basketball team. Margaret was a teachers aide at Bethune Elementary and later worked for Temple University as a custodian until she retired in 2000. Margaret was baptized in Elloree, SC when she was a young adult at Nazarene Baptist Church. Margaret joined the First Baptist Church of Crestmont in Willow Grove, PA in December 2017.

Margaret enjoyed her daily walks to 22nd street to play her lottery. She also enjoyed the company of her neighbors, long talks on the porch, cooking for her family, shopping for bargains and enjoying time with family. Her favorite snacks was honeybuns and plan chips. Her favorite beverage whether hot or cold was coffee and a ice cold Pepsi.

Margaret leaves behind two daughters Tracy Small (Michael), Florine Kimerly Akins, six grandchildren Ashley Peebles, Dymir Akins, Simayah, Sahara, Saaliha Johnson, and Siani Brewer. Six sisters and brothers, Vertell Whiting, Lizzie Lee Morrer, Pauline, Edna, Shirley, and Marvin Lawton. A sister-in law Pearly Mae. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and her loving 25th street family and Dearest friend Mr. Willie Smith.

Margaret was preceded in death by her loving sister Barbara Jean Moore and her brother Robert Lee Whaley Jr.
