Martha Mickens

Martha Mickens, was born in Goose Creek, South Carolina on July 5, 1930, to Patsy Jefferson Davis and Henry Davis. She departed this life on October 5, 2015.

She received her education in the Berkley County Public School System graduating from Berkley County High School. After High School she received her license in cosmetology.

She worked for the Philadelphia Public School System for over 30 years. She retired in 1992. She met and married Robert Lee Mickens. To this union 4 children were born, Arthur, Kathryn, David and Sharon.

She had several hobbies which included: cooking and going to the casino, doing hair and family time.

She leaves to cherish many memories: Two Sons, Arthur Mickens & David Mickens, Two Daughters, Kathryn Mickens and Sharon "Sherry" Mickens-Mitchell; one Special grandson whom she raised as her own, Arthur Connor; four Sisters, Gertrude, Rebecca, Virginia, Lillie Mae; one Brother, Isaac Jefferson, seven Grandchildren, Tonya, Arthur, Shontay, David Jr., Tifany, Tyesha and Tyrell, five great grandchildren, Rodney, Tyhir, Janae, Matthew and Aarin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
