Mary D. Nicholson, was born in Sumter South Carolina, on January 8th, 1943 to Moppie Wilkerson and Thelma Grant. She departed this life on June 21st, 2016. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, two sons Anthony and Melvin, and two grandchildren.
She received her high school diploma from the Philadelphia Public School System. Mary began her career in nursing. She completed the Basic Income Tax Prep and received her certification in 1981. She continued her education at Philadelphia Community College for nursing. The Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs awarded Mary with a certificate of completion for being an exceptional nail technician in 1997 which she continued to renew every two years. Before retiring, Mary held positions as a claims clerk at Prudential Insurance and also as a Senior Nurses Aid at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
Outside of making a living, Mary thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family, high fashion, technology and shopping. Mary met Felix J. Nicholson Jr. on June 3rd, 1976. On the same day 13 years later they wed. In this union they shared a blended family of 9.
Mary was well known for always being the best dressed. No matter what the occasion, bet your bottom dollar she would be dressed to impress. Mary was very hands-on and active in her family's life. She never missed a graduation, birthday or a celebration for a major accomplishment. She frequently told her family how much they meant to her and didn't hesitate to show them tough love when they needed it. Mary was caring, passionate, loving and a believer. She believed in all her friends and family and offered her advice and support without hesitation. Mary will be most remembered for her contagious personality, welcoming arms and big heart. To Mary, from all your family and friends, you will forever be in our hearts.
She leaves to cherish many memories Husband Felix Nicholson 3 sons Chris (Takita), Charles, Shawn (Carmela) 2 daughters Melissa & Charlette (David). Step Children Eric (Tonya) and Jolie (Bezwick). 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
