Myrna Elizabeth Jenkins was born on October 24, 1949 to Emma Beatrice and Roosevett Frank Holmes. She departed this life life on July 25, 2018.
Myrna received her education in the Philadelphia Public School System. At a very young age she met and married Christopher Jenkins and they had 3 children Christopher, Lisa and Adriene Jenkins. She was employed at the Swartz Candy Factory on 10th and Diamond St. for many years. Myrna was a great employee and made many friends while employed at her job.
In her later years she met Clarence Lawrence and had 3 children Dorothy, Shervon and Joy Jenkins. She then resided at 913 N. 6th Street for 28 years. Myrna worked at Stephan Smith Nursing Home for many years in West Philadelphia until she retired in 2012.
Myrna was affectionately known as Ms. Bunny. She had a beautiful smile and spirit that brighten the entire room. Ms. Bunny enjoyed hobbies such as traveling to Florida (to visit her Father) visiting Atlantic City, jamming to Oldies, ski trips,however, her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.
Throughout her life she followed her faith as a Jehovah Witness and was baptized in 2017. Ms. Bunny enjoyed witnessing to other people and hoped in turning them back to Jehovah, and she did this until God called her home.
Myrna will be reunited with: her parents Emma and Roosevett Holmes; sister Sally Holmes; 2 nephews Curtis Holmes and Fred Clark and 1 grandson Kenneth Williams.
The legacy and love of Myrna will forever live within the hearts of her: Son, Christopher Jenkins; daughters, Lisa Jenkins, Adriene Jenkins, Dorothy Jenkins, Shervon Jenkins and Joy Jenkins; son-in-laws Leon Howard and Jeremiah White; niece Zenita Deleon; nephew-in-law Ernesto Deleon; 24 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A host of of Great-nieces, nephews, and friends.
