Norma Douglas

August 30, 1954 — January 1, 2019

Norma L. Douglas was born on August 30, 1954 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Jessies and George Douglas. She was the oldest of five children. Norma was baptized at an early age in St Elizabeth Catholic Church.

Norma was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System. After graduation, Norma began her career with the US Naval base and later with Septa Transportation. In 1972, Norma began her family when she welcomed her oldest son, Stanley.

In 1974, her only daughter Salina was born. In the early 1980's, Norma met Michael Williams, and the two soon wed. Through this union bloomed Norma's youngest two children, Michael and Marcus.

Norma was affectionately known to loved ones as "Emma Lu, Tippy, Rag, and Lu." She loved to sing, dance, and watch television. Her favorite movies were "imitation of life" and "the temptations".

Norma was always the life of the party. When she and her bonus sisters, Diana and Joann got together, it was always a good time!. These three had a life long bond that was unbreakable. More than anything, Norma loved her children and grandchildren. As her family grew, Norma's great grandchildren were her pride and jot. She could always be depended upon to babysit and nurture them.

Norma enjoyed going to the casino with her sister Evelyn, ad she found joy in making her famous potato salad, which she would prepare for all family gatherings.

Norma didn't mince words. If she felt it, she said it. Her larger than life personality will be deeply missed. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Bianca and great grandson Ay'siem. She leaves to mourn four children, Stanley, Salina, Michael and Marcus, one sister Evelyn, brother Ronald, fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, inlaws and friends.
