Patricia Bryant-Hughes

Patricia Ann Bryant-Hughes also know as “Pat” to her family and friends, was born in Phila, Pa on December 30th, 1957. She was the oldest of five children born to the late Herbert Jean Hughes and Essie Mae Title. Patricia sorrowfully departed her life on August 23rd, 2019. Pat received her education in the Philadelphia Public School System. She met and married Ricardo Ancrum in August of 1989 and later divorced but remained close friends.

Patricia maintained employment at the Philadelphia Naval Base, Shriner’s Hospital for Children, and Walmart, she took pride and joy in working. She was an employee of Shriner’s for over 20 years of service until her illness ordained her to stop working. Shriner’s was not a job it was her second home; her dedication and hard-working ethics was inspiring and unmatched. Her contagious laughter and smile ignited the love of everyone she encountered from patients and their families to doctors and nurses she was loved by all. Her coworkers were her extended family and had nicknames such as: “Trish the Dish”, “Patty Boo-Bear” to name a few.

Patricia was a living-breathing “ANGLE” from a young child she endured pain but through her pain she always was abled to make others smile. She always smiled because happiness is what she wanted and deserved so she poured that into her children, grand-children, sibling, family and friends. When hardship hit her with sickness and then losing a child, she still maintained that smile. She took on responsibilities that others would walk away from and never wanted recognition from anything she did. She truly was a beautiful-spirit, a woman of humility, forgiveness, humor and love.

I pray we all cherish and remember the women she was, she leaves behind two sons (Jamie, Jermaine), one son-in-law (Robbie), three daughters the oldest is deceased (Yolanda, Shonda, Danielle) and twelve grand-children (Aliyah, Kayla, Dasia, Briana, Jamier, Ijane, Tayon, Yasir, Rahmier, Giselle, Brandon, Robbie Jr). Her loving Mother (Essie), two sisters (Robin, Wanda), two brothers the youngest deceased (Herbert Jr, Jerome) and tons of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were as close to her as family could be.

May she sleep in peace until we meet again…
