Ralph R. Guy, Jr. "Brother", as he was known, son of the late Ralph Guy, Sr. and Eva Felton Guy, departed this life on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Ralph was born in Wilmington, Delaware on April 24, 1953. He received his early education in Philadelphia at St. Elizabeth's Catholic School and thereafter, attended Roman Catholic High School. He graduated from Ben Franklin High School in 1971. He enlisted in the United States Air Force, served his country and received an honorable discharge.
Ralph worked for years as a cable installer, and was scheduled to start a new job with the VA on Wednesday, October 14th. He was an avid reader, really enjoyed singing, music and baseball. He played baseball for years as a youngster. The thing in his later years that was most important to him was his need to have a close relationship with his family. Ralph will truly be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He loved God and was very knowledgeable about the Bible, often making copious notes in it.
Ralph leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 30 plus years, Jennie Sherrod Hill; daughters Brandi Guy (Darius), Jasmine Hill and Deena Pinola. Grandchildren Darius Jr., Jaden, Mason, Jonathan, Emonee and Jaila; God Son, Sahiym Carter (Poppi). Several devoted friends, Cornelius "Lefty" Thompson, Mario "Ricky" Edney and George "Burt" Burton.
Also mourning his loss are siblings Herbert Dorsey (Monica), Beverly Fields, Christine Lambert (Alfred), Carolece Guy Scotton and Kimberly Edney. He also leaves a host of other nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph, Sr. and Eva, son John Hill and brother-in-law Michael Fields.
