Richard Merriweather Jr.

Richard Morris Merriweather, He was the late son of Richard Morris, Sr. and Thelma Merriweather, Richard was born on January 16, 1942 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was the 2nd Eldest of 8 children. He departed this life on May 10, 2020.

Richard was Educated in the Philadelphia Public School System.  Later in time, Richard was mentored by the Late John Stevens Sr. He then entered into the Drywall Local 1955. as an Apprentice, Journeyman and later became a Master Finisher.
Richard Met and married the love of his life, Barbara Ann Strong, who he affectionately called Bob, and to this union, 3 children were born, 2 Daughters Tonya Marie, Gail Renee, and one son, Ricky. Their Marriage lasted 60 years.
Richard went on to Mentor young men in the Drywall Local 1955 Apprenticeship Program.  Richard became one of Philadelphia's Minority Black owned Drywall Company.
Richard was also known to his childhood friends as Mammie Cut, he was admired by all the men in the family, they wanted to be just like him. He loves cars, not used, they had to be brand spanking new Cadilacs. When his health was good, he enjoyed keeping in shape by taking long morning walks around the neighborhood.  Richard was a family man, he was proud of his Offsprings, Especially his grands, when they were babies he would sit with them while cuddling, snuggling and smelling them while playing with their ears and hair.
Those who proceeded him in death, were 3 sisters, Betty , Shirley and Lois.
Richard leaves a Legacy of love to cherish his memory, His wife, Barbara Ann, his 3 children, Tonya (Randy Hayden), Gail (Jeffrey Sibert), Ricky (Tia). 2 sisters, Joanne (Gary Achuff) and Thelma Williams. 2 brothers, John Stevens, Jr. and Gregory L Stevens.1 brother in law Larry Smith, 1 Special Aunt Dot. ,1 special cousin, Hattie Mae. 4 Grands, Jocelyn (Stephanie Eggleton),  James aka Boo(Tesha Evans, Amina and Xavia(George) . 9 great grands, Crystalaiah, Ishynne, Semaj, Giovanni, Yuri Cree,, Jamiyah, Saint, Ambyr and Miles. A Host of Nieces, Nephews, cousins and friends.
