Robert “Blue” Bluefort was born on June 16, 1927 in Nesmith, South Carolina to the late Simon and Violet Bluefort.
Robert was reared and educated in the Nesmith South Carolina Public Schools. He came to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1945.
In the year 1946, he met his lifelong companion and friend, Mamie Julia Pope.
Robert started working at Campbell Soup Company in Camden, New Jersey in 1945. He later worked in the construction field for many years. In 1975 he started his own business “Bobby’s Landscaping.” He was loved and adored by all his clients. He retired in 1999.
Robert accepted Christ as his personal savior. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend to all in the community. He loved being in his garden and spending time with his family and friends. He loved sports, especially baseball and football. He also enjoyed his weekly telephone conversations with his niece, Linda Davis of South Carolina every Sunday.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie, two sisters, Jannie and Maggie and two brothers, Tuba and Milton.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories two (2) daughters, Dorothy Williams (PA), Laura Cosom (GA); two (2) granddaughters, Dorian Williams (PA) and Jamila Cosom (GA); two great grandchildren, Zaniya Eaddy and Aaira Duncan and one sister in law, Azalee Gibson (SC) along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
