Robert Bolden

August 15, 1932 — November 27, 2018

Robert L. Bolden (also known as Bob) was born in Greenwood, South Carolina on August 15, 1932 to
Zollie Bolden, Sr. and Gertrude Bolden. He departed this life on November 27, 2018.
Bob was baptized at an early age at Bright Hope Baptist Church.
Bob received his education in the Philadelphia School System graduating from Dobbins High School.
Bob served in the United States Air Force for eight years, receiving an Honorable Discharge for his
services.
Upon completion of his military tenure, Bob became a General Foreman at the Philadelphia Naval
Shipyard where he worked until he retired in 1988. He was also a school bus driver and worked for U.S.
Airways as a Flagman in which he retired again.
Bob met and married Oneida Carter in 1955. They were married for 31 years and from that union, they
had two daughters, Robbin and Rene. After her passing, he met and married Edna Andrews on
September 8, 1990. They fell in love and have been married for 28 years.
Bob had several hobbies which included dancing; singing; cooking, traveled the world twice and he
loved spending time with his family.
Bob was preceded in death by: Emmalee Bolden (sister), Albert Bolden (brother), Robbin Bolden
(daughter) and Kevin Andrews (stepson).
Bob leaves to cherish many memories Edna (wife), Rene (daughter), Tanya (step-daughter) and one son
in-law, Steve; eight grandchildren, Janee, Sheldon Jr., Mnemosyne, Robert, Johnny, Rasheed, Johnzell
and Zakia; two sisters, Billie and Edna, one brother Zollie, Jr.; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Jeanette,
Wendy, Junnie (Eleanor), Ronald, Deborah and Andre. He will be missed by seven great grandchildren,
nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
