Robert (Bobby) Lee Williams was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on March 16, 1943, to Johnson Lee Williams and Della Marie Daniels. Robert departed this life on September 11, 2015.
Robert was baptized at the New Comfort Baptist Church in Philadelphia under the leadership of Rev. Tyrone E. Kilgoe. He was an active Usher. He received his education in the Public school system graduating from Thomas A. Edison High School in 1962. After graduation, Robert served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, receiving an Honorable Discharge for his service. Robert was employed with the City Of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Parking Authority for 35 years until retirement in 2004.
Robert met and married his dedicated friend, Bernadette Lorraine Teagle-Muchison 2005 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Robert was a dedicated member of The American Legion, Department Of Pennsylvania whereas he was elected as the Eastern Vice-Commander 2000, 1st District Commander, Phila. County Commander, Henry Hopkins Post 881 Commander and appointed as Department Sgt. At. Arms. Robert received a National American Legion Appointment to the Americanism Council, served on the Legion College East as Chairman, Scotland School Committee, Veterans Children Committee, and Phila. Convention Corp., Legislative Council 2009 and a member of the Past District Commanders Association. Robert received Commonwealth of PA. recognition award from Governor Tom Ridge 2001, House of Representation William F. Keller 2001, Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition 2001 by Congressman Bob Brady, City Of Philadelphia Citation Award from Mayor John F. Street and President Anna C. Verna 2001 and numerous awards from PA American Legion.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother Della, brothers Theordore, Russell, and Mervin Williams. Robert leaves to cherish many memories with Wife, Bernadette Williams, Son Robert Jr., Step Daughters Rasheeda and Syreeta Muchison, Mother- In- Law Lillian McKinley, Sister Bernice, , Brother-In-Law Brian Teagle, Michael Johnson, Art Caple, Sister-In-Law Shelley Teagle, Beltina Caple, Linda Johnson Granddaughter Deonna McCurry, God-Daughter Zaakirah Hinson, Great Grandson Jevon Holmes Jr., cousin Clifford Hyman, host of nieces and nephews.
