Sarah Hampton

Sarah Elizabeth Hampton, was born in Evans, Georgia on May 2, 1936, to Mack Garnett and Laura Bell Garnett. She departed this life on October 14, 2015.

She was baptized at an early age at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She received her education in the Wilmington, North Carolina school system. She met and married the late James Otis Hampton. To this union, 6 children were born. Her sons, Laurence, Carlton, Derrick, and Donald preceded her in death. She enjoyed caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish many memories, one loving son, Edmund, one devoted daughter, Jacqueline (Bernard), one Brother Lucious Garnett (Bennie), New York City, NY. Three grandchildren Tamara Smith (Jerome), Carlita Tabb (Shanga), and Derrick Hampton. Also five great-grandchildren Jerome Allen II, Taylor Allen, Jai Smith, Tyler Smith, and Milan Tabb. One aunt Carrie B. Holmes. One brother-in-law Lonnnie Hampton (Gwendolyn), one sister-in-law Betty McCladdie (Hogan) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
