Thomas Lee Chamberlain was born on March 14, 1954 in Asheville, North Carolina, to the late George and Lena Chamberlain. Thomas moved to Philadelphia at a young age with his mother where he matriculated through the Philadelphia School System. He was a graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School.
One of his passions was law enforcement. Consequently, his career was compiled with many diverse positions relating to law. His career began with being employed as a security guard in the 1980’s-1990’s at the Dell East. Thomas was very committed to his community, especially the Southwest Philadelphia community. He was dedicated most of his life providing security. His love for community and safety made him seek security employment and opportunities. He was employed as a Security Guard for A.I.M.S. Thomas was recognized amongst his numerous colleagues for his exemplary performance.
Thomas met Carmen whom he was immediately attracted to. They had a special bond for many years; however, as life took them in different directions for many years; they were united in marriage in 2007.
Thomas loved the Lord. He accepted Christ as his lord and savior at an early age. Thomas was a faithful member and deacon at Christ Haven Worship Center where he also served as Head of Security.
Thomas had a loving and giving heart, he was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone he came in contact with. He had a humerous personality and enjoyed filling the hearts of others with laughter.Thomas was known to some of his friends as " Uncle T" because of his willingness and outpouring spirit to help others. Thomas served on various committees within his community: East wick Bike Patrol.
Thomas was preceded in death by: his parents: George Chamberlain and Lena O;Hannon, Sister: Winnell Mitchel and one brother Marvin
Bereaved by Thomas’s untimely passing and cherishing his memories: His loving and devoted wife, Carmen; one daughter, Shatera Thames; one son, Thomas Tobi Lee Chamberlain(Bernidetta); one step-daughter, Dorian Carroll (Odell); four step-sons, Ellis, Carnell, Dorron, Dominic Adams; three brothers, Michael(Joann), Perry(Jennifer), and Kevin and Barry; sisters: Gwendolyn (Joe), Colleen, Kathy Deborah ; three sister-n-laws: Ann, Gail, and Sheila; one special grandchild: Elexis Adams and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
