William Lindsay

William Eugene Lindsay born on December 31, 1943 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. to his parents, Cornell M. Coleman and Ophelia Lindsay-Cowan.

His mother had seven children altogether with William being the oldest. Shortly following after was: Robert Cowan, Edna Rose-Purnell, Cornell Cowan, Tyrone Cowan, Kathleen Coleman and Anthony Coleman.

William's education started in the Philadelphia School District where he attended and graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School. He went to join the military after finishing high school and served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. He was Honorably Discharged in 1969 at the rank of PFC.

William found a career as a Cotton Mill Engineer where he stayed for umpteen years before working as a Maintenance Engineer in the Metropolitan Apartment Building where he retired.

While working at the Mill, William met the love of his life 'Patsy' better known as 'Sukkie' to him* and they were married on September 27, 1986 in Philadelphia. Out of their union God blessed them with three beautiful children: Kimberly, Dwayne, and Shawn and 5 grandchildren.

William is survived by: his wife, Thelma Lindsay; three children, Kimberly, Dwayne and Shawn; five grandchildren, Nyfiece, Monique, Jasil, Sakira and Simaya; siblings, Robert, Edna, Cornell, Tyrone, Kathleen and Anthony along with their respective counterparts; In-laws, Richard, Johnny, Gregory, Joanne and Bobby along with their respective counterparts; and a host of other relatives and friends.
