Willie Armstrong

Willie Roy Armstrong, Jr., affectionately known as “Roy”, was born on July 8, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA., to Floberta and Willie Roy Armstrong, Sr. He was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System. He was married to his beautiful wife Edna Armstrong for over fifty years.

Roy was a Foreman for thirty years at a Philadelphia construction company. During the course of their marriage, Roy and Edna welcomed three beautiful children. Roy set standards for his children and taught them to be self sufficient. He was an excellent provider, never leaving room for them to want or need anything. He often encouraged them to pursue their goals.

Roy transitioned peacefully at home on November 11, 2017 at the age of seventy-seven with his wife at his side.

Roy is survived by his beautiful wife Edna Armstrong; his one and only daughter, Sheila Armstrong; his two grandsons, Artist and Jamar; a great granddaughter, Artrea; his two sisters, Juanita and Phyllis; three brothers, John, James, and Lovey’ one aunt, Millie, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will also be missed by a community of friends.
