Woody (Doc) Osborne, Jr. was born in Philadelphia, Pa on July 20, 1936 to the late Minnie Roberts Osborne and Woolston (Woody) Osborne, Sr. He departed this life peacefully in his sleep on October 16, 2015 while watching his westerns. He received his education in the Philadelphia public school system.
He met his wife Nancy while riding on her bingo van; the two soon became best friends and that's when the love story began, culminating in 1979 when the two joined each other as husband and wife. The two enjoyed a marriage that was full of love, deep respect and friendship that lasted until his last day.
Woody had several hobbies which included playing pool, card games and watching old western films. He also enjoyed watching sports, was an avid story teller and was known around town for his famous shout out "Awhooh" along with his signature Kangol hat.
Woody loved his family dearly and was a loving father to his children and and awesome step-father to Nancy's two children. In 2005 his health took a turn for the worst and doctors dealt him a 6 month hand but being skilled card player he was, Woody, took the cards he was dealt and managed to play a 10 year hand; each year finding renewed strength and reason to fight and push on for the sake of his wife, children and grand children. It seems that God just wasn't ready to deal with his mess.
Woody was an interesting man to say the least and was utterly adored by his grandchildren, a feeling that he mutually shared for them. He leaves to cherish a wealth a dear memories, his devoted wife and best friend, Nancy Little Osborne, 11 children, Gail, Niecy, Jerry, Woody, Cheryl, Demon, Karona (Lady), Jamie, Robert, James and Carmella, 21 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great-Grandchild, 2 Son-in-laws, special friend Foodie Cat, honorary son & friend Jim Jones and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends.
